Club History

The history of Meelick Eyrecourt GAA club can be traced back to 1887 when a Meelick team represented Galway in the first All Ireland Final played in Birr Co Offaly. They were defeated that day by Thurles (representing Tipperary) in front of over 10,000 spectators.

Meelick Eyrecourt GAA club is primarily focused on hurling, fielding adult teams at 3 grades. However, Gaelic Football is considered the clubs second sport.

From a juvenile perspective, Meelick Eyrecourt fields teams from nursery up to under 12 level. From under 12 - under 20, Meelick Eyrecourt and Killimor have amalgamated to form Fr Joe Walsh's.
